Last Frost

For Ottawa, Ontario The last expected Frost is May 6th, and the first Frost is expected to be around Oct. 5th. The expected growing season in days this year is 151. Checking with the weather network it is looking pretty good with a few night's getting to 5 degrees Celsius. Everybody should be good to plant.

  1. Thanks for clarifying "last frost" in Ottawa. I'm a beginner gardener and was told to wait until the May long weekend. I'm looking forward to starting sooner! Thanks so much for this initiative and good luck everyone!

  2. May 24 weekend is all ways the best bet. But we are experiencing an early season so far this year. The weather has been treating us very well. Even if there is a frost, by directly planting the seeds and the time that they take to germinate they should be protected by the soil long enough to be safe.
